What is Inland Imaging?

Inland Imaging has been providing radiology services in the northwest since the 1930s and has more than 70 subspeciality radiologists that work with providers, hospitals, and clinics in Western, Central and Eastern Washington as well as Northern Idaho and Western Montana.

With over 70 physicians serving 22 hospitals, Inland Imaging offers fast, accurate diagnostic imaging and answers to help guide and support patient care. Inland Imaging also operates and manages seven Spokane-area outpatient imaging centers equipped with state of the art technology.

Inland Imaging conducts over 800,000 procedures a year – they’ve seen a lot! Those numbers make it much more likely that they’ve seen a condition similar to yours (or your loved one), and can help accurately and compassionately guide you through treatment.

With over 70 radiologists, 22 hospital location, and 800,000 procedures done each year, Inland Imaging has plenty of experience in this field.

Recently, we had the opportunity to interview Dr. Amy Henkel of Inland Imaging about what to expect when you visit Inland Imaging, to preparing for common procedures like a mammogram, the importance of being proactive about your health, and more. Take a listen below:

What Does Inland Imaging Do?

You may be wondering how Inland Imaging can help you. Inland Imaging offers a wide array of services, including body composition, breast imaging, computed tomography, and much more – take a look below!

However, two of the following we’ll focus on include their breast imaging services and CT screening services

Inland Imaging has an excellent video on how to prepare for your mammogram below. If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, throughout your diagnosis and throughout the treatment, Inland Imaging offers advanced technology, specialized medical expertise, and professional physician experience to fight breast cancer and win!

In addition to professional expertise, Inland Imaging also has nine board-certified breast imaging radiologists and a large number of dedicated mammographers, breast sonographers, and breast MRI technologists who are all at the top of their field and ready to help in your fight.

Much like the video on what to expect before your mammogram, Inland Imaging also has an excellent video on what to expect during a PET scan and exam. While I’ve never had a PET or CT scan, my parents have and I know they would have loved to have a video like this before their scans. This is the kind of thoughtfulness you don’t always see, and I think it speaks volumes to how Inland Imaging cares for their patients.

Another good thing to know about Inland Imaging? You shouldn’t have to go far for treatment – there are imaging centers conveniently located around Spokane.

Costs & Booking Appointments

One question you may have is ‘what will this cost me?’ While the answer is, unfortunately, “it depends” based on the type of insurance you have or don’t have, Inland Imaging does say “outpatient imaging at Inland Imaging is 40-60% less than local hospitals.”

If your doctor orders imaging for you, you can specifically ask for Inland Imaging in order to reduce your costs.

Take a look at the helpful Comparison of Charges Inland Imaging created – this will help you see what you can expect to pay with Inland Imaging vs. going to a local hospital.

Inland Imaging News

One thing that stands out to us about Inland Imaging? Inland’s commitment to excellence and growth.

Inland Imaging releases newsletters regularly, and in one of their recent newsletters, it was announced they had enrolled the first patient in a “groundbreaking national research trial for patients with liver cancer.”

The study and treatment method has “the potential to deliver more effective doses of radiation to tumors while sparing surrounding healthy liver tissue, thereby improving patient outcomes while reducing side effects.”

If you’ve ever had a loved one deal with the side effects from radiation treatment, you know how pivotal this could be. It’s amazing to read that our local Inland Imaging is participating in studies as monumental as these!

In another newsletter, Inland Imaging shared how to choose the right scanner for your MRI exam, as well as health updates and new team members to Inland Imaging around Washington state.

If you’re the type of person who likes to do a lot of research about their doctors and the latest treatment research, Inland Imaging has you covered. This is reassuring to many of us who would rather read too much than too little!

What People are Saying About Inland Imaging

Don’t just take our word for it! When it comes to reviewing Inland Imaging, many reviews are positive, like this one on Facebook about the professional and caring staff:

Another recent review on Yelp highlighted how comfortable Inland Imaging’s staff makes you feel – even though this reviewer noted they usually feel claustrophobic!

When it comes to negative reviews, the main complaint we can see about Inland Imaging doesn’t have so much to do with Inland Imaging’s service, but rather a universal complaint: health care billing!

If you have health care and are recommended imaging by your doctor, just make sure to cross your T’s and dot your I’s – and keep everything related to your diagnosis, procedure, and recommendation. That’s been the best way we’ve found to keep a handle on insurance billing – but it doesn’t have anything to do with Inland Imaging!

Is Inland Imaging Right for You?

If you’re wondering what kind of imaging services are available in Spokane, we have the answer: Inland Imaging

It’s clear from reviews that Inland Imaging prioritizes your comfort when you go in for screenings, no matter what you’re getting. From their newsletters, it’s also clear Inland Imaging is always striving to improve, learn more and remain on the cutting edge of technological advances in their field.

All of this gives us a lot of peace of mind, which is invaluable when you’re dealing with a potentially scary diagnosis.

While few people go out looking for radiology services ahead of time, it’s always good to know someone is in your corner, if and when you or a loved one needs it.
