4 Fashion Trends for 2024 You’ll Want to Know

Another year has passed and while it is always sad to say goodbye, I always love a fresh start. There is nothing better than trying something new and a new year is a perfect excuse for that! Here are four trends we are seeing in fashion for 2024 I am looking forward to embracing.

Fashion Forward: 2024’s Must-Watch Trends and How to Rock Them

Pops of Red

Pops of red has been seen a lot over the last year, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. We often look to French fashion to see what is coming next, and the French are still embracing this trend full force. Whether it be a bag, belt or blazer, a pop of red is an easy way to elevate your outfit. It feels classic and bold. I am also looking forward to embracing red dresses as well a lot in 2024.

Now that we’re fully into awards season, you’ll see pops of red all over the red carpet. Take a look at the celebs at the 2024 Golden Globes who wore red, including Selena Gomez, Ayo Edebiri, John Krasinski, Barry Keoghan, and ever stylish Heidi Klum.

Bows

According to Pinterest, the search for “Bow Outfit” has increased by 190%! Bow accents are such a fun and feminine addition to any look. The “coquette aesthetic” has been trending for a minute in both fashion and beauty-tok.

If you are looking to execute this trend on a budget, may I suggest some simple bow hair clips (the ones I am wearing can be found in my new section called “Shan’s Closet” at The Small Biz Shoppe at Riverpark Square among many other options!), a bow adorned clutch or belt (in a neutral color or red perhaps!) to add this trend to any outfit in the upcoming year. Such a fun and versatile trend!

And once again, bows dominated the red carpet this Golden Globes 2024 season, with stars like Amanda Seyfried, Elle Fanning, and Hailee Steinfeld all rocking different sized bows.

Tailored Pants

We saw a lot of tailored pants in 2023, and they are not going anywhere in 2024! They have become a favorite alternative to jeans this past year, and gray is the color of choice for 2024 it seems.

I must be honest, as a plus size women this trend scared me at first, but with its rise in popularity I have been able to scope out and try new fits and there are now options out there for everyone. My personal favorites are from Halara and come with stretch! Fashionable, versatile and comfy? Sign me up.

Rugby Core

We can thank the queen herself Taylor Swift as well as Rihanna, Bella Hadid and more who have been seen rocking rugby-like styles. Collared shirts were also seen on the runways for the upcoming season by Stella McCartney, Miu Miu and more.

“Preppy styles” are also trending for 2024 and trying a polo collared shirt is an effortless way to execute this look. Another fun way to test the waters of this trend is with a comfy casual two-piece collared set.

The fashion landscape of 2024 is shaping up to be a vibrant and inclusive mix of styles, with something for everyone. From the bold and classic pops of red to the playful and feminine bows, these trends reflect a dynamic approach to personal style.

The continued rise of tailored pants offers a versatile and comfortable option for all body types, proving fashion can be both chic and accessible. Meanwhile, the Rugby Core trend, influenced by celebrities and designers alike, adds a preppy, sporty edge to the mix.

As we embrace these trends, we celebrate the diversity and creativity inherent in fashion, encouraging everyone to experiment with these exciting new looks and make them their own in the coming year.
