Before moving to Eastern Washington for college, I called the small town of Sequim, Washington, home! Even though Sequim is small, with a population of just over 8,100, it has plenty to offer. As a local, I feel qualified to share some of the town’s best-kept secrets. Many people know Sequim for its sunshine, lavender fields, or the stunning Olympic Mountains, but for me, it will always be home.

Here’s a local’s guide to the best spots to visit in Sequim, Washington.

Sunny Farms Country Store

A family-owned gem right off Highway 101, Sunny Farms is more than just a health food store. Locals love it for its fresh, farm-grown produce, raised right on their Sequim farm, and sustainably sourced beef from their cattle ranch in Othello, WA. It’s the perfect spot to stock up on wholesome goodies while supporting a true local business.

Oak Table

A true Sequim staple, the Oak Table is a locally owned and operated breakfast and brunch spot right in the heart of downtown. Known for its fluffy pancakes, classic breakfast dishes, and cozy atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to start your day with a comforting, homemade meal.

El Taco Loco Food Truck

Hands down, this should be at the top of your list when visiting Sequim. El Taco Loco serves some of the best Mexican food around. Locally run and operated out of Port Angeles, their Sequim food truck is just as incredible. Don’t miss their street tacos with carne asada—they’re a local favorite for a reason!

Nourish

Nourish is all about fresh, organic ingredients and supporting local farms. Their menu changes seasonally, making every visit a special treat, and their commitment to sustainability is impressive—they compost all their food waste, giving back to the environment. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking for wholesome, locally inspired meals in Sequim.

Shadowline

A classic burgers-and-brews spot with a serious local following. Shadowline hand-makes about 95% of their dishes, from freshly crafted onion rings to hand-cut fries. They’re known for their classic burgers, but the elevated creations like the Hulk Burger and Cranky Mike’s really steal the show. It’s one of those places you just have to try for yourself.

The go-to local seafood spot in Sequim. All about fresh, local ingredients, Salty Girls is locally run by a Sequim native and known for serving some of the best seafood in the area. Their specialty is local oysters, but if you love seafood and cocktails, this is absolutely the place to be.

Lavender Farms

Sequim is known for its lavender, so visiting at least one lavender farm is an absolute must. You’ll find them spread all over town, especially beautiful in the warmer months when the fields are in full bloom. If the weather’s cold, pop into one of the many lavender shops instead—think lavender everything: soap, syrup, lemonade, candles, and so much more.

Port Williams Beach

A beautiful, walkable beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Port Williams Beach is perfect for a peaceful stroll. The shoreline stretches both north and south, so you can make your walk as long or as short as you’d like. It’s also one of the best spots in town to catch the sunrise. On clear days, you can even look across the water and see Victoria, Canada—and if you’re lucky, spot some adorable local wildlife along the way.
