Best Spokane Gyms
Liberty Lake Athletic Club
The Liberty Lake Athletic Club is described as a “community center with activities for everyone,” and is one of the best gyms in the Spokane area. At the main gym in Liberty Lake, members enjoy top notch equipment, highly-skilled trainers, full-court basketball, steam rooms, dry saunas, cardio equipment including Peloton bikes, and classes for all ages and abilities. In addition to these fitness assets, the Liberty Lake Athletic Club offers a golf simulator, drop-in daycare, tanning beds, and nutritional counseling.
Liberty Lake Athletic Club also operates a boutique facility on Barker Road, known as Liberty Lake Athletic West (LLAW)! You can expect the same high standards of the Liberty Lake Athletic Club with 24/7 access to state-of-the-art equipment (including treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers, stationary bikes, recumbent bikes, and weights) and group classes throughout the day!
Within the LLAW is Liberty Lake Athletic Club Performance Lab, which caters to those with focused fitness goals. The dynamic certified coaches offer adult training labs, high school performance lab, and a semi-private training lab.

The Spokane Club
The Spokane Club is iconic to say the least, and its fitness center follows suit. The conditioning room provides state-of-the-art cardio machines and top-of-the-line free weights and weight lifting equipment. And if you like to try new things, this is the place for you! The Spokane club offers personal training, a 25-year indoor swimming pool for private lessons, group lessons, or solo lap sessions, and almost any court sport you can think of (basketball, handball, racquetball, pickleball, cornhole, badminton, volleyball, etc.). Additionally, their group fitness offers enough variety to keep everyone in your family excited. You can try aqua fitness, barre, body pump, boot camp, candle light yoga, cycling, HIIT strength, social dance, and more! I’m most excited to try their Sapphire Studio for on-demand classes from Peloton and the Lululemon Mirror. Known as one of Spokane’s best gyms for decades, it continues to try to evolve with the times.

Lift Personal Training and Nutrition
Lift combines their super-slow strength-building technique with nutrition counseling to help their clients to “become stronger, healthier, and more energetic daily.” Not only does their technique make fitness accessible for busy professionals, but it is incredibly safe and has been getting results since 2009. The Lift team is proud of their incredibly safe facilities with incredible ventilation and call their space a “germ-free environment.” The private training rooms allow for increased focus and going beyond your comfort zone.

Southside Lifting Club
Southside Lifting Club owner, Alek, prioritizes quality equipment and member experience, and I personally can’t think of better priorities. This community-based gym welcomes expert lifters and beginners alike and provides 24/7 access to its members. This small gym provides all you need and promises to keep you focused on your fitness goals. For those who want to take training to the next level or learn the ropes, Southside lifting club provides expert personal training for all sorts of goals!

Krista McNaught-Davis started Go the Distance in June of 2017 because she wanted a gym where everyone felt welcome. She created a space where folks of all levels of expertise feel welcome and supported. This 5,000 square foot facility provides deadlift platforms, forza benches, cable machines, dumbbells, squat racks, smith machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. One-on-one personal training is also available!
Each of these top gyms in Spokane are unique, and we hope that you are able to find one that is the perfect fit for you.
Best Idaho Gyms – Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden
Fuel Fitness
Fuel Fitness has 5 locations throughout the Northwest. Its roots are in Montana, where 4 of the 5 current locations can be found. In fact, it is the largest locally-owned fitness chain in Montana. We are lucky to have the fifth location here in Coeur d’Alene, and I am a personal fan, as I have been a member for several years. I love that I have 24 hour access and that the staff remembers my name and makes me feel super welcome, even though I am not the classic gym rat. The equipment includes both Hammer Strength and Life Fitness equipment, as well as free weights, functional turf, and plenty of cardio equipment. They also offer red light tanning, InBody Scans, and complimentary FloWater. There are even rumors that saunas are coming soon! I highly recommend Fuel Fitness for gym rats, fitness competitors, and newbies alike.

Peak Health and Wellness Center
Peak is arguably the gold standard gym here in Northern Idaho. With locations in Coeur d’Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, and several in Montana, it has established itself as a convenient, high-quality gym. Beyond its sheer size, Peak’s reciprocity program and exhaustive list of amenities set it apart from other gyms. Peak members enjoy access to all Peak Health locations and several other participating gyms in the Northwest. Amenities vary a bit between the locations, but in the Coeur d’Alene location alone, they offer exhaustive cardio equipment (enough that I never had to fight anyone for a treadmill, not even in January), strength training equipment, functional training equipment, racquet ball courts, basketball/volleyball courts, aquatics, extensive classes, tanning, personal training, and physical therapy. And if, like me, you’re a fan of luxury and recovery, you will swoon over their locker rooms. Each locker room provides jacuzzi, both a steam room and a sauna, private showers, complimentary day-use lockers, and the option of monthly rental of private executive lockers.
