The Woodlark Hotel: Where Every Detail Spells Chic Comfort in Portland

Traveling from Spokane to Portland is not something my little family does often. However, this time we did it with style. The Woodlark Hotel, located in downtown Portland, was the suite-est hotel stay we have had in a long time – pun intended!

Upon arriving, we were greeted by the hotel’s valet, who couldn’t have been more helpful or cheerful! Just from our short conversation outside of the hotel, we knew we were in for a pleasant stay. Checking in got even better, as we were told, “You are in the suite, you can have coffee delivered to your room in the morning.” Music to my ears! Coffee? Delivered? Portland, I like you!

The gold and luxe double door elevators carried us and our luggage up the nine stories and into our home for the next couple of days.

Our room was nothing short of perfect. A king size bed (a very comfy one at that), city views, and big and glorious bathroom. Every single little detail down to the bathroom lights had me in awe of the hotel’s chicness. It was more than just home for a few days; it was heaven!

Downstairs, we had great in-hotel options for food! Lunch at the Bullard Tavern is the ideal second meal of the day. The nicest staff will take care of you as you enjoy your meal looking at downtown Portland.

Finally, top off your night with a cocktail or mocktail at Abigail Hall, on Woodlark Hotel’s first floor. Named after the famous female suffragist, Abigail Scott Duniway, this walk-in (no reservations required) space features beautiful penny-tile floors, green wainscot walls from 1911 and a mix of lush materials and colors, like pink and deep maroon leather banquettes and fabrics. The walls are hand-painted with murals by local Portland artist Michael Paulus.

Overall, The Woodlark Hotel deserves an award for being one of the best stays we’ve ever had! From the friendly staff, fresh made lattes and fabulous rooms, it’s one of the best stays in the Northwest.
