If you’re looking for high quality, made to last clothing items that are local then you need to check out our top picks! Running trending.cda has given me so much insight into local businesses but specifically who is the best of the best? I have worked closely with all five of these clothing shops! I have personally bought items that I wear on the daily and receive so many compliments! When shopping I always try my best to support the locals and these are hands down my favorite shops! All of these shops are bringing in something different to Coeur d’Alene, and of course, they are all women owned!

Gas & Grain

While not technically a boutique, Gas & Grain is a curated vintage store that’s absolutely worth the stop. Owner and founder Bri Wells has a real eye for unique pieces built to last. Gas & Grain is the spot for the best quality denim and vintage attire. The items you’ll find are made to hold up for years to come. In a world of fast fashion, Gas & Grain is doing the opposite, pulling pieces from the past and giving them a second life.

They’re constantly bringing in new inventory, always with an eye toward finding items for a new purpose. Beyond clothing, they also carry a rotating collection of vintage jewelry. Every item is carefully vetted to make sure it’s in the best possible shape. If you can’t make it in person, Gas & Grain has an online store so you can shop the collection anywhere!

CDA Garment District

Located in the heart of Downtown Coeur d’Alene, CDA Garment District has become the go-to for anyone chasing trends without sacrificing quality. Owner Sammi Gibbs keeps the racks stocked with a constant rotation of dresses, denim, sweaters, crewnecks, trucker hats, etc. If it’s popular right now, chances are it’s already on the shelves. The shop is also one of the few downtown spots carrying athletic wear, and their range of colors and styles goes well beyond the basics.

The dress selection deserves its own mention. They have a wide-ranging collection, full of pieces that feel distinct rather than mass-produced. The inventory is only half the story. The staff is just as much of a draw. I have gone in many times not sure what I am looking for and always walk out with the perfect piece! Both women- and locally-owned, CDA Garment District checks every box for supporting Coeur d’Alene’s small business scene.

Marmalade

Marmalade opened its doors in 2006 and has been a Coeur d’Alene staple ever since. It was founded by Marie Widmyer, who now runs it alongside her two daughters, Kaity and Kasey. A beautiful family business that’s grown into something bigger than its downtown Coeur d’Alene roots. This is a place to find truly fashion-forward, standout pieces that will have everyone stopping and staring. They also have great advice if you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, and can help you narrow down some great pieces to elevate your fashion game.

What started here has become a genuine global presence with one of a kind pieces, and multiple locations! You can find Marmalade in Coeur d’Alene, Spokane, WA, Savannah, GA, and Brooklyn, NY. Marmalade is making a statement in fashion while staying true to its local roots. You can shop their collection in store, or online. Their motto is “Fashion should feel personal, inspiring, and a little unexpected,” and we couldn’t agree more.

Curated Closet

The Curated Closet opened in February 2026 in the Riverstone area. It’s redefining what secondhand shopping can look like. The boutique specializes in elevated consignment, a carefully edited mix of luxury resale clothing and accessories. It makes building a wardrobe you feel good about feel effortless, not like a treasure hunt. They also buy clothing directly, so if you’ve got pieces ready for a second life, you know where to go. And the payoff shows on the racks. You can find familiar luxury names like Kate Spade, Coach, Chanel, and Prada. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and constantly pulling extra items just for you to try. Not to mention, the service is completely unmatched. The second I walked in, they were offering complimentary beverages before I even tried anything on.

The inventory is constantly rotating, with new arrivals coming in regularly. Beyond clothing, The Curated Closet showcases work from local women artisans (we love women supporting women). The floor is filled with soaps, jewelry, accessories, lotion, all women created. It’s a small detail that says a lot about the shop’s values, proof that shopping secondhand doesn’t mean sacrificing quality.

Bird + Lily Boutique

Bird + Lily Boutique opened just over a year ago in the heart of Downtown Coeur d’Alene. It’s hard to miss, their eye-catching mural greets you right from Sherman Ave. The shop is owned by Audrey Fryland, who runs successful boutiques in Kona, Hawaii and brought that same vision north to Idaho. Audrey runs things alongside her sister, Adrienne, and the two of them mean business. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted by staff who are genuinely knowledgeable and happy to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. When you shop at Bird + Lily, they make it personal to you. When I go in and shop they are always pulling extra things for me to try so I make sure I find the perfect items for me. Full disclosure – I help run their social media because I love it so much!

Beyond the in-store experience, Bird + Lily also has an online store and an app, so you don’t have to make the trip downtown to shop their collection. They offer personal, private styling sessions if you want one-on-one help pulling together the perfect look. Audrey is intentional about bringing in women-owned brands. She carries brands such as Khush and Gaya, both out of Hawaii, Ginger June from Hayden, Idaho, and so many more.
