Top Beaches Near Spokane to Visit During Summer

Summer, sunshine, and the many lakes that are within an hour of driving from Spokane, help create this magical place we call home. There are over 70 of them within a short distance, so pack your chairs, sunblock and coolers for the perfect day (or afternoon) at one of the many places to cool off in our area.

From the iconic Lake Coeur d'Alene to Lake Spokane (Long Lake), and from Priest River to Priest Lake, set aside some time to experience one of these top beaches before the summer ends.

Loon Lake

Less than 30 miles outside of Spokane, Loon Lake has soft golden sand waiting for its visitors. The beach spans about 200 yards for families or friends to set up for the afternoon or for a longer stay.

Hill's Resort

Honeysuckle Beach

Hayden Lake, Idaho

Honeysuckle Beach is one of just two public access beaches on Hayden Lake. Surrounded by clear water and PNW pines, Honeysuckle Beach is a lovely getaway for family and friends to gather. Find a spot on a fishing dock, grab a picnic table and more, when you enter the tucked away beach.

With several beaches for beach goers to relax at, Lake CDA offers sweeping views with a mountain backdrop, cool water and plenty of recreation for all! Lake Spokane (Long Lake)

Long Lake, also known as Lake Spokane, is a prime spot for beach lovers and anglers alike, offering stunning shorelines and plentiful fishing opportunities for species like bass and trout. The lake's scenic beauty and accessible locations make it an ideal destination for a day of relaxation or a family outing.

Lake Roosevelt

Coulee Dam, Washington

Bear Lake and Liberty Lake are both closed this summer due to “exciting renovations,” according to Spokane County, making them both top contenders for 2025!
