Friends of Manito Second Annual Art in Manito Park

Manito Park has long been a resource for beautiful gardens, ponds, and walking trails. Now it can add artwork to its resume. For the second year in a row, The Friends of Manito will host an Art Festival in Manito Park. This year, it’ll take place on June 11th with the hopes that record breaking heat temperatures will be avoided. It’ll also be running longer hours, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. so that attendees preferring an evening option will now have one!

The festival itself focuses on providing the opportunity for local artists to connect with the community. Notably, it is more accessible to the upcoming talent and younger artists who perhaps were unable to be admitted to the larger, more competitive art festivals in the area. The Friends of Manito are particularly proud to help cultivate the arts in this way. With that said, the festival is a mix of well-established professional artists, new talent, and everything in between.

Local arts supporter and artist extraordinaire Karli Ingersoll will be in attendance. You may know her work from the gorgeous mural at Lucky You Lounge or her North Monroe St. mural. Other notable artists who will be in attendance include:

• Chris Bovey
• Gloria Fox
• Caili Hartman
• Megan Perkins
• and more!

These are just a few examples of the many extraordinary artists who will be in attendance on the day of the festival. There will be top notch music performed by Kyle Richard and Friends throughout the day of the festival. Food trucks will be available with options like ice cream, boba tea, coffee, sandwiches, and more. The Friends of Manito like to focus on children’s educational activities and will be partnering with local businesses to provide activities throughout the festival. There will even be a photo opportunity set up for attendees to snap some photos while at the festival.

All in all, it should be one seriously fun festival. The Friends of Manito are a nonprofit that supports Manito Park through projects like the Duncan Garden Gazebo and Japanese Garden bridge. There will be a membership booth at the festival if you’d like to become a member and help to support the park.
